AdaptDx Pro Test®

Are you concerned about losing your vision as you age? It’s important to know that age-related macular degeneration (AMD) affects about 1 in 8 adults over the age of 60. This condition gradually damages a part of your retina called the macula, which is responsible for central vision that helps with tasks like reading, watching TV, recognizing faces, and driving. Sadly, AMD is the primary cause of blindness among adults in developed countries, and with our aging population, it’s a problem that’s only expected to increase. At True Focus Eye Care in Port Richey, FL, we can help you understand your risk for AMD and provide the necessary treatments to help preserve your vision.

AdaptDx Pro® test by MacuLogix®

If you’re over the age of 50, have a family history of age-related macular degeneration (AMD), or experience trouble seeing at night, it’s important to be aware of the early warning signs of this condition. However, many people with AMD may not recognize these symptoms and may dismiss them as a normal part of aging. Unfortunately, delaying diagnosis may result in more significant vision loss.

At True Focus Eye Care in Port Richey, FL, we offer the AdaptDx Pro® test by MacuLogix®, which can measure your dark adaptation speed and indicate the presence of AMD up to three years earlier than other tests. This non-invasive test is simple and comfortable, taking only about 10 minutes to complete.

During the test, you’ll wear a lightweight headset that conforms to your head and is padded for your comfort. The on-board technician, powered by artificial intelligence, will guide you through each step and let you know how you’re doing. By measuring your dark adaptation speed, your doctor will receive a single number called Rod Intercept® (RI®), which can help determine if you have AMD.

Don’t ignore the early warning signs of AMD. If you’re at risk for this condition, talk to your doctor about taking the AdaptDx Pro test at True Focus Eye Care in Port Richey, FL. Early diagnosis and treatment can help preserve your vision.
